Use of services

Use of health and care services is often used as a proxy for how accessible services are to a population. Accessibility can be described as ‘the timely use of services based upon need’, and also relates to the ease and convenience of obtaining or using services. Research studies indicate that some population groups are more likely to experience barriers to care; these include people with disabilities, those suffering from poor mental health, LGBTQIA+ community, people whose first language is not English and people of colour. Osten these are the same groups that have poorer health outcomes compared to the general population.

Below you can find a number of documents identifying the local population needs. Please note that this list will be updated as and when the new information becomes available.
