Social Connections Showcase

Join us for the City & Hackney Social Connections Showcase on Thursday 18 September 2025, from 5pm to 8pm at Frampton Park Baptist Church, Hackney (E9 7PQ). Hosted by the Population Health Hub and local partners, this event brings together residents, organisations, and community groups to celebrate and explore the work being done to strengthen social connections across City and Hackney. Expect an evening of inspiring presentations, interactive stalls, and creative activities, with food and drinks provided. Whether you’re actively working in this space or simply interested in learning more, all are welcome. If you’d like to showcase your work at the event, please complete this form by the 26th of August.

The Population Health Hub Lunch and Learn Programme

We’ve been running a monthly virtual Lunch and Learn programme and will be updating the list below with upcoming sessions. Keep an eye out for topics like health literacy, social connection, participatory grant making, research skills, and more.

Participatory Grantmaking: Shifting decision making from organisations to people and communities | This Lunch and Learn session will be led by Thomas Shore, Grants and Investment Manager with Community Partnerships and Public Health to explore what participatory grantmaking is, the benefits of this approach, how to run it and how it can help build equity into your decision making processes.

Resident involvement Community of Practice

This group has been set-up to bring together professionals from across the system who work with residents or who have an interest in resident involvement. It aims to support members to develop knowledge, skills and confidence in working collaboratively with residents; demonstrate the value of working in this way; and build connections with others doing similar work in order to share learning, best practice and resources.
